Armed with a smartphone, teams follow cryptic clues, solve puzzles, and search for the city’s secret exit within two hours. Every Escape Tour around an exciting story set in the city. You’ll help a historical figure evade their pursuers and work together to find the secret exit. You purchase 1 ticket per team. We recommend forming teams of 2–4 people. This way, everyone is involved in the game. With 17 people, you’ll form 5 teams, so you’ll purchase a total of 5 tickets.
Every 10 minutes a maximum of 5 teams start at the same time. Each team automatically gets a different starting assignment, so there is no running after each other. Fifteen minutes later another maximum of 5 teams will start at the same time, until all teams are on their way. Afterwards the booker will receive your own ranking list by e-mail.
Yes! The goal is to find the secret exit of the city within 2 hours. If you manage to do this and another team does not, you are faster and thus the winner. The fastest possible escape from the city is more important than the number of correct answers. After the game you will receive a personal ranking list in the mail. Here you can see exactly how much time it took each team to find the secret exit.
The Escape Tour designed for adults and children ages 12 and up. This means that the puzzles and questions quickly become too difficult for young children. In addition, the storyline is based on the city’s history, and the text is written with adult humor in mind. Still, some children enjoy trying to figure out a solution now and then or navigating with a smartphone (the “game generation”), so they might enjoy joining in. However, in our experience, it’s not always fun for them either. For younger children, we’ve created three family versions set in Amersfoort, Amsterdam, and Zwolle.
