The Story of Madeira
Starting location: João Gonçalves Zarco statue
With Escape Tour Madeira you will discover the island in a unique way, travelling back in time to the year 1430. The island was divided into two parts, one belonging to João Gonçalves Zarco and the other to Tristão Vaz Teixeira.
One day Zarco had enjoyed a little too much “Poncha” and accidentally set part of Teixeira’s forest on fire… Oops! Teixeira was furious and immediately went to confront him. Luckily Zarco was on his guard and managed to flee in time from the violent Teixeira.

You will step into the shoes of Zarco. He has heard rumours of a mysterious secret exit and is determined to find it in time! With the Escape Tour Madeira you will help him while passing by the most beautiful sights and hidden corners of Madeira. Solve riddles, crack codes and follow the clues in this city game. Can you manage it within two hours? Then you might even earn a place on the Wall of Fame! The adventure begins at the Teatro Municipal Baltazar Dias, good luck!
