Paris, 1794. At first glance, he seems like an ordinary man, caught while fleeing from the hospital. The strange thing, however, is that his hospital clothes are stained with blood, and from his backpack falls a jar containing human fingers. It is Tarrare, a man with the remarkable ability to swallow anything – from corks to live animals. That explains his bizarre eating habits...
Tarrare began as a street performer and gained fame in Paris with his unique act. His talent caught the attention of the army, who employed him as a courier. After being captured on his very first mission, he ended up in hospital, where his grotesque appetite only grew worse. Now Tarrare is suspected of eating a toddler and faces the death penalty. More than enough reason for him to search for a secret escape route from Paris! Will he manage to leave the city unseen?
