Terug naar 1247. Het jaar waarin Alfons III de eerste koning van Portugal werd. Een goed imago had hij niet, Alfons was namelijk een echte vrouwenverslinder. De adellijken sloeg hij liever over, maar in de plaatselijke kroeg was er genoeg keus voor hem. En de barvrouw was overduidelijk zijn favoriet! Iedere vrouw die Alfons zwanger maakte kreeg een huis cadeau. Hoe zij de huur betaalden, dat was voor niemand een vraag...
Het losbandige leven van de koning bleef niet onopgemerkt. Helaas voor Alfons kreeg ook de paus zijn verhalen te horen. Het duurde dan ook niet lang voordat de kerkvorst zijn troepen richting Faro stuurde. Dit kon zo niet langer! Alfons zag de bui al hangen en moest maken dat hij wegkwam. Vaag herinnerde hij zich iets over de geheime uitgang van Faro. Die had hij nu nodig!
