Welcome to Utrecht in 1577. The tension has become unbearable in this city after more than 50 years of Spanish occupation. Fed up with the situation, Trijn van Leemput catches two Spanish soldiers red-handed stealing something from her home – and savagely chases them out the door. However, she knows her actions will have serious repercussions. She’d better get out of the city – and fast!


Just before she slams the front door behind her – perhaps for the very last time – she finds a cryptic notebook containing clues that might lead to a secret exit. This is her only chance of escape! You too will have exactly two hours to find the secret exit and stay one step ahead of the Spanish soldiers. Can you escape the city in time?

This Escape Tour will take you on a quest through Utrecht, in search of tasks, questions, riddles and clues. Follow the trail of Trijn van Leemput, which will take you past some of Utrecht’s most picturesque landmarks. Your quest starts on Zandbrug Bridge. Good luck!
