Deventer was a prosperous Hanseatic city in the 16th century, and the Penninck family profited greatly from it. They belonged to the highest layer of society, which brought many advantages. The daughter, Magteld, finally wanted to benefit from this, too. With the Escape Tour Deventer, you will follow in Magteld\'s footsteps and do your utmost to help her husband, Jannes.


Jannes had been condemned to the scaffold (or sentenced to death), and so Magteld wanted to secretly guide him to the city's secret exit. The family had never shared this secret with her, so it was a difficult search even for her. She didn't have much time, as the square where the decapitation was to take place was already filling up...

With the Escape Tour Deventer, you will step into Magteld's shoes and follow the exact same path she once walked. Just like Magteld, various tasks, challenging questions, and cryptic clues await you. You have two hours to find the exit of Deventer. If you succeed, you'll secure a spot on the Deventer Escape Tour Wall of Fame! The city game begins at the Wilhelmina Fountain—good luck!
